Christie Castorino, the 14 year-old author of Heroines of Haddonfield will speak at the Haddonfield Chapter DAR meeting on October 9th at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will take place at the Conservatory at Springdale Farm. Women featured in the book include Dorcas Bates Reilly, inventor of the Green Bean Casserole and Tish Colombi, the first female mayor of Haddonfield. Both Mrs. Reilly and Mayor Colombi are members of the DAR and plan to attend the meeting. Christie spent the summer promoting her book with a book signing and multiple speaking engagements at local Haddonfield organizations.
